Hourglass Industries, Inc. Launches New Website
Colorado Springs, CO – 02/07/12 – Hourglass Industries, Inc., a direct importer and redistributor of HandPRO brand gloves for the dental, medical, industrial, cleanroom and food service industries, today announced the launch of their newly redesigned website.
In an effort to improve visitor experience and rapidly deliver information on new products, Hourglass Industries, Inc. has launched a redesigned website at www.hourglassindustries.com.
Customers and distributors can browse the site by selecting an industry, and view products specific to their needs and interests. Glove products are also arranged into convenient product type categories, making it easier to view all gloves of a specific material or for a particular use.
“We had outgrown our website, and needed a new, more flexible site with a modern look and feel. Now we can quickly make updates, keeping our customers and distributors more informed,” says Stephen J. Atwood, President of Hourglass Industries, Inc.
New product images and enhanced product descriptions provide more information to site visitors. Other changes include sample request forms that appear on the same page as the product, making it easier for visitors to request samples. Additional tools, such as the Glove Comparison Chart, have been added to help site visitors quickly see the differences between medical gloves, cleanroom nitrile and vinyl gloves, and disposable industrial nitrile gloves.
The website also provides links to the company blog that covers glove industry and other related topics, and archive links to the company’s bi-monthly e-newsletter containing useful articles and product information.

New Nitrile Glove Lowers Risk of Dermatitis
October 5, 2010
Hourglass Industries, Inc., a direct importer and redistributor of high quality protective gloves, introduces the new Aspen2100AF accelerant free powder-free nitrile glove with low dermatitis potential.
Health care workers depend on gloves to keep them safe from bloodborne pathogens. But gloves can cause skin irritation or allergy in the health care worker as well as the patient. Due to increased latex sensitivity and allergy to natural rubber latex, many health care facilities have moved to non-latex glove options, including nitrile gloves.
However, because of the chemical additives used during the manufacturing process, even nitrile gloves can cause irritant contact dermatitis as well as the more serious Type IV chemical allergy. According to ASTM International, residual accelerator chemicals in medical gloves appear to be the leading cause of allergic contact dermatitis in health care workers.
Aspen2100AF is created from a new nitrile glove formulation that is free of these chemical accelerators, and carries the FDA claim of Low Dermatitis Potential. “It is the purity of the nitrile used in the Aspen2100AF that brings us to this new chapter in hand protection,” says Stephen Atwood, President of Hourglass Industries, Inc.
Aspen2100AF is accelerant free with low dermatitis potential, giving health care workers a new nitrile glove choice with fewer chemicals. The glove is available in sizes extra-small to extra-large, and has been tested and approved for use with chemotherapy drugs. Samples can be requested at www.hourglassindustries.com or by emailing request@hourglassindustries.com.
